Help me help kids- pretty please!

Dear Friends, family, people who ready my blog--

As we head into the holiday season, we are reminded of all the reasons we have to be thankful. Those of us who have made it through these turbulent financial times know all too well how difficult it can seem to stay afloat in such a storm. Perhaps because of our good fortune, the holidays are also a time when we remember those less fortunate. We are reminded by each and every one of our personal blessings that there are individuals in our own neighborhoods that go without basic necessities.

My company, would like your help in providing some of these basic necessities to a group of young children and their families in the Modesto City School District. The children, ranging grades 1 through 7, arrive to receive our free tutoring services in clothing that is inappropriate for the cold winter climate. They ask for extra snacks because there is not enough food at home for dinner.

On December 16th, we will be hosting a dinner and winter carnival for these children and their families. We hope to provide some of the items that the children are lacking as prizes and send each family home with a bag of non-perishable food. Below is a list of items for which we are asking:

· Non-perishable food
· Books (the students are in grades 1-7)
· Jackets/coats/sweaters – previously loved is fine!
· Decorations
· Catering donations
· Carnival items (plywood, paint, balloons, raffle tickets, beanbags, etc)
· Carnival volunteers

Even the smallest donation, when done on a large scale, can make a world of difference to a child in need. If you are interested in helping us make this a spectacular holiday season for some very deserving families, please let me know!!
