My favorite comfort food EVER.

Growing up, my Noni (mom's mom) used to stockpile pastas in her second freezer. (I am not sure how many freezers she actually has, but I am sure it is more than the average person! hehe) One of the pastas she kept on hand was "pastina" which is Italian for tiny pasta.

It can be hard to find pastina in the stores- usually you have to buy the little letters (letras) or stars (estrellas) in the Hispanic foods section that are meant for using in soup. However, the other day, I discovered a treasure trove of pastas at The Market near my house. And, lo and behold, they had actual pastina. This type happened to be teeny tiny stars. And of course I bought a box. Here is how to make my favorite comfort food in all of the world:

Pastina with Cheese (so simple, it's hardly a recipe)
1/2 box pastina, prepared as directed on the package
1 cup shredded cheese of your choice (I love Monterey Jack or Mozzerella)
2 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp salt

Mix ingredients into drained, hot pastina and stir to combine.
For me, this is the food equivalent of a hug. Make some, you'll be happy you did :-)
*I bought a new camera, and I am still learning how to use it. Bear with me as my shots improve over the next couple of weeks (at least I HOPE they improve!)
