Let's throw together a lasagna, shall we?

This post may be silly to some more advanced cooks, but to those who have never attempted to make a lasagna, I wanted to share my easy, fast throw-it-together method to prove that it's a piece of cake. Errr, pasta and tomato-y cheesy cake.

*Hey, guys out there (err, guy?)- this is something you can easily make to impress your significant other on Valentine's day! You're welcome :-)*

What you'll need:
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded parmesan or Italian cheese blend
1 container of ricotta cheese
1/2 tsp of garlic powder
1/2 tsp of oregano
1 tsp of parsley
1 jar of pasta sauce (I used Fresh and Easy's Arrabiata sauce, yum!)
12 lasagna noodles (always prepare a few more in case they tear while cooking)
What to do:
1. Prepare the lasagna noodles as directed on the package. Add 1 tbsp olive oil to the water when it begins to boil so noodles will not stick together. Do not cook beyond al dente. When ready, drain and rinse with cool water to prevent sticking. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
2. Mix the cheeses (excluding the parm/Italian blend) garlic powder and oregano in a large bowl.3. Pour 1/3 of the sauce into the bottom of a glass baking dish. Lay 4 lasagna noodles flat on top of the sauce. Arrange so there are no large spaces between them. (For my pan, I do 3 noodles horizontally and one vertically).
4. Crumble the cheese mixture a top the noodles.5. Then layer as follows: more sauce, noodles, cheese, more sauce, noodles, sauce then sprinkle the parm/Italian cheese blend on top.
6. Place the lasagna into the oven for 25-30 minutes. Cheese should be thoroughly melted.7. Allow to cool 5 minutes before serving.
