Easter playdate

I was fortunate enough to be able to take a day off this week to enjoy some time with family over the "spring break". This morning, I hosted a playdate for Keegan and his close buddies so that they could have fun decorating eggs and getting ready for Easter.

Most days, I really don't think too much about the fact that I am a working mom. I love my job and I know Keegan is in wonderful, capable and loving hands while I am working- but, there are days, days like today that I wish I could be a stay at home mom- days filled with fun and activities- days devoid of tantrums because we're just plain having too much fun!

So today, I pretended to be a stay-at-home mom, or at least the type I would like to be if I really were one :-). I got up early- grabbed some Dutch Bros coffee and a smoothie for Keegan and I and we hit Fresh and Easy for a few goodies for the playdate. I bought the sugar cookies that have seasonal designs in them (the Easter Bunny ones this time). I'd never bought them before (I try to make things from scratch whenever I can) but they were so cute and themed, I couldn't resist. I came home, straightened up a bit even put a colorful table cloth and flowers on the kitchen table. The cookies were warm, ready and plated at playdate time. (I'm usually running so behind when I'm hosting anything!)

When the other moms and kiddos arrived, the kiddos took to playing immediately and us moms set up the egg dyeing kits. The decorating went off without a hitch and the kids had a great time. It was so smooth, organized and peaceful- what an enjoyable morning!

After the eggs were dyed, we walk down the street to Me & Eds for some pizza- $10 for a large with up to 3 toppings on special right now people! The large pizza turned out to be just the perfect amount of food for our group and we all left happy and full.

All in all, it was a wonderful day with my munchkin, his buddies and their mamas.
