Fresno Friday: My Fresno Bucket List

I'm apparently still riding the high of having a fresh new year to plan and enjoy and an idea struck me- I don't have a bucket list.  Sure, I have a few things that I know would be on there (Meet Ree Drummond/The Pioneer Woman, travel to Europe, build both a snowman and a sandcastle in the same day... I do have ideas...) but I thought what would be really neat would be to have a Fresno Bucket List- a list of things to do and experience right here in Fresno, since I am continuing to learn about new activities, places and the history of this city I am happy to call home.

So, without further babbling, may I present my:
Fresno (and nearby) Bucket List for 2011
1. See a local band live that I've never heard/seen before
2. Visit the Underground Gardens (I've been once, but it's been over 15 years)
3. Enjoy lunch at the SupportR, a cupcake from Frosted and then coffee from Cafe Corazon all in a lunch break.
4. Take pictures at the water tower downtown and in Courthouse Park and have a picnic.
5. Enjoy a snow day at nearby Fish Camp with Keegan
6. Go horseback riding at Wonder Valley Ranch
7. Find a new local breakfast spot
8. Ride Amtrak from Fresno to Hanford and back to eat ice cream from Superior Dairy
9. Go on a mega thrifting/vintage goods hunting spree with friends (hitting Van Ness and Inyo especially!)
10.Enjoy fine dining at either Cracked Pepper Bistro, Max's or Trelio
11. Introduce 3 people to one of my favorite local places, Casa de Tamales
12. Visit 3 parks with Keegan we've never been to.
13. Make a donation of either time, goods or money to a local charity each month.
14. Run (not walk) in the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure 5K in October.
15. Visit 5 locally owned restaurants on date night with the hubs (that we've not been to before).

I'll take pictures and update you along the way! :-)

  2. I like the local area bucket list! I totally think they are all doable too!! Especially the parks with Keegan! I say you strive to do most of them before the end of the year!

  3. Max's is easily my favorite Fresno restaurant, and Trelio is great too. I have heard nothing but good things about Cracked Pepper but we have not been there yet. As far as local restaurants, Oggi in Tower is our new favorite Italian - so good and very romantic!

We went to Underground Gardens last summer - definitely worth a visit (maybe not to a three year old though!)

    Enjoy going through your list!

  4. how about become a Creative Fresno member? then you could use your member discount at Trelio and the membership would pay for itself! :)

also, for breakfast, i recommend The Train Depot or Al's Cafe.
