I. Am. Excited!

I have a really hard time spending money on anything that costs me 3-digits (without a decimal point that is!).  I know there are things that are worth the money, but I just have a hard time dropping that kind of dough on ONE thing.  I tend to be the type that likes to see how many things I can get for a given amount of money (and it's rare that I have 3 digits worth to spend at one time on non-bill/necessity items anyway).  Whereas my husband, he'll plan and save and drop a chunk of change (that takes us a WHILE to acquire) on some super-cool-must-have-tech-gadget-I-don't-understand-but-he-does.

So, it's tax time, and we've determined we are getting a little bit of a refund this year.  We have a rule, and that is whenever we get a tax refund, we use 80% for responsible things (saving, paying any debts) and we each take 10% as "fun money" and we HAVE to do something FUN with it.  I wasn't really sure what the refund would be exactly, but I admit, I was kind of hoping somehow it'd be enough for a Silhouette machine.

It was Cheri's posts that REALLY made me want one because I saw how many neat things it could do and it got me thinking of all the things I could do in my house with one.  Back in January, Silhouette was offering a giveaway of a complete package on Cheri's blog and they also offered a special purchase with a discount code, and as much as it was a great deal, I so could not swing it.  But- it got the idea in my head... "if we somehow get a tax refund and my fun money is around $200 AND Silhouette offers the deal again (it was a $400 package for $225) then I will buy one for myself."

So, I'm pretty sure you can imagine how stinkin' excited I was when I found out my "fun money" will be $220 AND House of Smith's advertised the silhouette deal LAST NIGHT! (Good through the 28th!)  I was ready to jump up and down!  I can't WAIT to show you all of the projects I'm dreaming of doing with the machine (and probably some blooper type projects too, haha, I'm guessing there's likely a learning curve for non-crafty people like myself).

So, if you haven't heard of the machine, you may want to check it out while the special is going on!  You may want to stop by I Am Mama Hear Me Roar or House of Smiths for ideas on how to use the machine.  They sure do neat things with theirs!
