Recipe: Cinnamon Swirl Bread

This recipe, which I originally discovered through Pinterest, is amazingly easy, and impressive in both appearance and taste. (That's my kind of bread recipe folks!)

Cinnamon Swirl Bread
What you need:
1/3 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup white sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil

What to do:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
2. In large bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and 1 cup sugar. Add egg, milk, and oil to flour mixture. 
3. Stir until just moistened.
4. Pour half of the batter into the pan.
5. Mix the 1/3 c. white sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle half of this mixture onto the batter.
6. Pour remaining mixture into the pan, and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon and sugar.
7. Bake for 45 minutes, then allow to cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Let cool completely, then wrap tightly with foil and allow to sit overnight.  In the morning, slice and enjoy!

*This bread really is better after sitting overnight- I tried it both ways ;-)  Also, don't worry if your tip cinnamon and sugar layer gets crunchy, after it sits overnight, it will soften and absorb into the bread better.
