As you likely know, I have been building and writing The Full Moxie for the past eight months. During that time, I learned a lot. I learned how rewarding and challenging it is to start your own business and partnership. I learned more about social media, branding and building an audience. I also started to realize that a business partnership, in some ways is kind of like a marriage, and the business, a child. As partners, you work hard together to make sure your "baby" grows healthy and strong.
In the past eight months, I've devoted 12-25 hours a week working on The Full Moxie in addition to my regular full-time job. I am incredibly proud of what my partners and I accomplished in building and growing the site. However, I also made the realization that the amount of time I was sinking into the site, on top of my regular job was severely cutting into my quality time with my husband, as I usually worked on the site from the moment our son went to bed until about 30 minutes before I went to sleep, five days a week. As much as I love Moxie, I love my husband more. In addition to the time commitment Moxie required, I noticed I was tending towards more informational/how-to/journalistic writing rather than personal. I'm not saying those styles are bad -- but, they don't fulfill me in the same way writing this site does -- by creating personal and real connections on a smaller scale.
So, with that said, I have respectfully made the decision to leave Moxie and return to this site. I hope you will continue to enjoy both Moxie and The Thinking Blonde. If you would like to be included in my blogroll or guest post sometime, by all means, feel free to let me know. It's the people of the blogosphere that make this experience for me -- so I appreciate your presence! I've also updated my About page, to reflect the current direction of this site, if you're curious.
